The five men accused of murdering Charley Dume are having their matter processed for a voluntary bill of indictment.

The five defendants – all residents of St Lucy – are Andre “Lord Evil” Jackman, 35, of Stroud Bay, Crab HiIl; Ryan Omar Samuel, 34, Shane Hakeem Omar Babb, 23, and Rory St

Clair Thomas, 27, of Grape Hall; and Zavier Renaldo Walkes, 27, of Archer’s Road, Crab Hill.

Dume was shot at a bar on Nelson Street, the City on April 26 last year.

When the five men reappeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, Inspector Eustace Ifill informed the court that the application was before the Director of Public Prosecutions’ office.

If approved, it means the accused will not have to go through a preliminary hearing at the Magistrates’ Court level but will be allowed to plead directly before a High Court.

Attorney-at-law Arthur Holder is representing accused Samuels, Walkes and Jackman while attorney-at-law Allan Carter is acting on Babb’s behalf.

The matter was adjourned until September 15.
