When motorcyclist Kevin Rohan Durant appeared before Magistrate Graveney Bannister earlier yesterday, he pleaded guilty to seven traffic offences.
He was charged for not having front or back registration numbers, not having a registration number affixed to the cycle in a conspicuous position, no driver’s license, insurance or road tax and failure to register the cycle.
Police saw Durant, 20, on Wednesday riding along Lower Estate Road, St Michael. He had a pillion rider with him at the time.
The motorcycle he was riding cut out and both men alighted, pushed the vehicle off the road and began inspecting it.
It was when police approached the men and spoke to them about the particulars of the cycle, that lawmen realised that several things were not in order.
Today, Durant told Magistrate Bannister that his uncle gave him the motorcycle.
He was fined a total of $900 forthwith on three charges and was disqualified from driving all classes of vehicles for the next year, on two other counts; those will run concurrently.
One matter was dismissed and Durant was convicted, reprimanded and discharged on the other one. The forthwith fine was paid.
