A St Michael man was remanded when he went before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with having a gun and 24 rounds of ammunition on October 25.
Peter Melvin Leroy Sinclair Toppin, 29, was not required to plead to the charges which Magistrate Douglas Frederick read to him.
Before he left the dock, however, Toppin wanted to know “how I could be charged with possession and nuh gun was found on me. You could tell me that Sir”?
“That is something to be taken up with your lawyer. I can’t get into that,” Magistrate Frederick replied. “I’m the umpire so I can’t get in it.”
Toppin, who was unrepresented, returns to court on November 24.
