COURT TODAY BLOCKHis vehicle was parked at the back of a Pine Road, St Michael building, the keys were in the ignition and anyone would have believed Clyde Neville Corbin was there on legitimate business.

Today, the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court heard that the 49-year-old technician was at the unoccupied property to carry away two air conditioning units.

Appearing before Magistrate Douglas Frederick, the Walcott Avenue, Bayville, St Michael resident admitted stealing the $800 units on November 21.

The court heard that the owner, Vincent Lovell, uses the unoccupied building for rental space and left the two air conditioning units installed and working last Friday.

On Saturday, police got a call that there was a break-in at the building. They responded and, on arrival, saw a car parked at the back of the building, windows down, the key in the ignition and two AC units in the rear of the vehicle.

While lawmen were still inspecting the vehicle, Corbin returned and told them that he was responsible for the van and was the driver. He was arrested on suspicion and both he and the van were taken to the District ‘A’ Police Station.

Corbin was granted bail in the sum of $3,000 and will reappear on December 4 when the complainant is scheduled to come to court.
