The trial of a man accused of shooting at three policemen began in the No. 5 Supreme Court today before Justice Jacqueline Cornelius.
Steve Lauriston of Crick Hill, St James is facing three counts of endangering life, and one each for possession of a firearm and ammunition on July 14, 2013. Chandler allegedly shot at police officers Lever Nash, Bernard Brathwaite and Kenroy Ashton on that date.
The trial is being heard by a jury of five males and four females, before whom Principal Crown Counsel Elwood Watts has already presented his opening address.
One witness, Nash, has testified so far in the trial which continues on Tuesday.
Chandler will continue on bail until then.
