An auto-body repair technician charged with murder was remanded to HMP Dodds when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today.
Cedric O’Neal Maynard, 38, of Kingsland Crescent, Kingsland, Christ Church, was not required to plead to the indictable charge of murdering Christopher Callender on August 22, 2015.
Maynard also faces two other charges arising from the incident. He is accused of causing serious bodily harm to Peter Jordan and Rico Eugene, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable them.
A pensive looking Maynard, dressed in a blue pinstriped shirt, black pants and white shoes, nervously stood in the docks as the charges were read to him by Magistrate Douglas Frederick.
Callender died after being stabbed multiple times while working at the Zanzi Bar, Nelson Street, The City.
Maynard will return to court on September 29.
