Two St Michael lads, both 18-year-old, have been charged with murder following the death of a middle-aged man who was allegedly beaten up in a City bus stand early last month.
Nickolai Matthew Thompson of Chadderton Road, Carrington’s Village, and Nishawn Andre Prescod, from Hinds Gap, Halls Road, were originally charged with causing serious bodily harm to Brinsley Warde on October 9, with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him.
Warde died after the incident at the Nursery Drive Terminal, Bridgetown.
Weeks ago when the accused first appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, police prosecutor Station Sergeant Irvin Kellman objected to bail.
He stated that the complainant in the serious bodily harm matter was now deceased and there was the likelihood of the matter being upgraded to murder “in the very near future”.
The two remain on remand until December 11.
Thompson is being represented by attorneys-at-law Douglas and Kathy-Anne Trotman, while Philip Gaskin is representing Prescod.
