When the case against Ryan Antonio Oneal Bullen was mentioned in the No. 5 Supreme Court earlier this week, his attorney Marlon Gordon was not present but was before the Caribbean Court of Justice at the time, in another matter.
When the case came up again today before Justice Jacqueline Cornelius, Gordon was present and told the court that he felt “it would be useful to have an evaluation” of Bullen “by psychiatric professionals” before his matter is tried.
Bullen, who is currently serving a nine-year sentence, is accused of murdering 14-year-old Kalifa Downes sometime between April 14 to 20, 2009.
Downes, a school girl, was reported missing. Her body was discovered some time later by a pasture in the Pine, close to Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation.
Bullen was 35 at the time he was charged. His lawyer’s request for him to undergo an evaluation was granted. He returns to court in January.
