Two men who were on remand and came before High Court No. 5 today to apply for bail, threw in the towel instead.
Leonard Rupert ‘Short Man’ Clarke, of Taylor’s Land, Martindales Road, St Michael, admitted having sexual intercourse with a woman who was mentally subnormal on October 3, 2010 and raping her five days later.
Besides Clarke, 47, Gerad Nicholas Calderon, 33, of 4G North Close, Wildey, St Michael confessed to having an unlicensed .22 calibre firearm and 11.52 grammes of cannabis on February 28, 2013.
Both appeared before Justice Jacqueline Cornelius who ordered pre-sentencing reports on them.
The convicted men will return to court on Thursday to have the facts of their cases read by Principal Crown Counsel Elwood Watts.
Taylor and Calderon remain on remand until then.
