Teen assaults schoolmate

Yet another secondary school student has ended up before the law courts. This time it is a 15-year-old Alma Parris student who pleaded guilty to assaulting a schoolmate and occasioning him actual bodily harm on November 10. The teen appeared in camera at the District ‘D’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he admitted committing the offence. Magistrate Ian Weekes remanded the lad to the Government Industrial School until November 26 when he returns to court to be sentenced. The victim was reportedly in a line at a bus terminal last week when he suddenly felt blows to the head. He had to seek medical attention for bruising to his face.
